I am running Deluge 1.3.3 on Xubuntu 11.10, and I cannot get the auto add torrents setting to work (screenshot attached). I check the box, click "apply," but it doesn't work. Also, if I close the settings window and reopen immedately (without restarting Deluge), the box will be unchecked again. I tried opening Deluge as root in a terminal and the same thing happens.
Up until a week ago everything was working fine, but I had to reinstall my whole system due to hard drive issues and now I am having this problem. I don't know what version I was running then, but I actually would like to go back a couple releases (can I do that?), because I've had a couple other minor glitches in the past few months as well.
I did see a two other posts where people were having similar issues with the auto add feature, but I could not find a fix. One post suggested that it was the Firefox settings using the wrong program to open the torrent fioles, but that is not my problem. If I had that problem as well I'd have two dialog boxes popping up--one in frefox and one in Deluge. When I click on a torrent file, Firefox does download it and automatically open Deluge, but then Deluge makes me add it.
I could really use some help with this. Incidentally, I'm rather new to Linux, so I'd appreciate it if those responding could kerep that in mind.
