Use full allocation - doesn't work

Post by wampirek »

Hello,

I use Deluge 0.5.4.1 and have "Use Full Allocation" opction checked. Unfortunatelly it doesn't work - downloaded files are created as during "Use Compact Allocation". And I can't check which files to download first and which not to download at all. It says "File priority can only be set when using full allocation. Please change your preferences to disable compatc allocation, then remove and readd this torrent."
In deluge FAQ I've found:
Problem: I keep getting a warning saying that I need to use full allocation to set file priorities, but full allocation is already selected in the preference!

Full allocation only works properly on EXT2, EXT3, EXT4, NTFS-3g, ReiserFS, Reiser4, UFS, UFS2 and XFS. This means that FAT32 won’t work, no matter what your preference is set to. If you want to share a drive with Windows, use NTFS-3g or EXT3 and then install the windows driver for it (http://www.fs-driver.org/).
My system is Ubuntu. It doesn't change anything if files are downloaded to ext3 or to reiserfs drive (I do not use fat).

Is there any way to force deluge to use real full allocation?

Best Regards,
Wampirek

Yes, I figured out a way. It's not very hard, view my post in the other thread to see how:

It doesn't work for me. I have Deluge 0.5.5. My prefs.state contains only

Code: Select all

sS'use_compact_storage'
p44
I01
When I change to Full Allocation, the value changes to I00, but doesn't work. My torrent is continuously paused, no action. If I change to compact allocation, it works fine.

Later edit: yeah, looks like the svn version works. :?
