Paused magnet link

Hi. I added a magnet link in paused state and with 'full allocation'. I did this because the torrent is bigger than my harddrive ~80GB and I only want to download some of the files.

When you add a magnet link Deluge doesn't show the files or much torrent information, so I can't choose which files to download yet. While in paused state Deluge won't find the torrent information.

I've resumed the download, now Deluge has found the torrent and started downloading all 80GB of files before I have a chance to choose which ones I want.

This sucks, how can I get round this?

You could try setting the download location to a non-existent path, it will error out but it should have the torrent info for you to choose the files and then change to a correct path.
