Downloads Stop After Getting Started

Post by bpmcdowell »

Recently, when I add a new torrent and start a download, the download will begin and ramp up towards my limiting threshold speed. But within a few tenths of a percent of the download complete, the download speed begins to step down, and after a few steps reaches zero. Any other uploads that may have been running also step down to zero at the same time. If I try to quit Deluge (version 1.3.3 running on Windows 7) at this point, I get a "Not Responding" status back from the OS and have to kill Deluge the hard way. If I immediately restart Deluge, the recently added torrent comes up in a "Checking" status that never clears. I can remove the torrent at this point through the Deluge UI and stop and restart Deluge normally. Uploads will work just fine at this point. Happy to supply additional debugging info as requested.

This is known issue discussed in the Windows forum http://forum.deluge-torrent.org/viewtop ... 41#p160817

Easiest solution for now is to downgrade to 1.3.1

Answered my own question by reading a but further. Most of my torrents are indeed relatively small, so this should be a good solution. First attempted download with new libtorrent proceeding in a normal fashion. I'll look forward to further tweaks down the road. Many thanks!
