[Solved] Thin client can connect, but not interact

Post by darkmaestro »

I can't seem to get Deluge working as a thin client on my laptop. Controlling the daemon works fine from a desktop on the server's LAN, but not from the remote laptop (tried SSH, OpenVPN). The thin client manages to see and connect to the server well enough, but that's as far as things go. The torrent list never loads, and the interface options (e.g. "Preferences", "Add Torrent") do nothing. Pretty much the only thing that does work is the Connection Manager.

Is the thin client setup limited to physical LANs only?

Server:
Ubuntu Server 11.10
Deluge 1.3.3
libtorrent 0.15.8

Laptop:
Windows 7 (x64)
Deluge 1.3.3

Did you follow the SSH setup guide here: http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/UserGuide/ThinClient

I followed the guide, but configuring the loopback adapter is a lot more involved on Windows. Long story short, I mistyped the address as 127.0.0.3 so it didn't match up with the tunnel created by Putty. My bad.

Still not sure why OpenVPN isn't working, but I'll take that up with them.

Thanks again Cas!
