Deluge downloads files I tick as "do not download"

Post by blueplume »

I've been using Deluge for quite a few months, it's a great BT client, except this one little issue is always bugging me.
Deluge always downloads files within the torrent which I explicitly tell it NOT to, and those partially-downloaded pieces shows up in the download directory upon completion.
This is not much of a problem when the torrent contains just 3 or 4 files, but when the torrents comes w/ hundreds or thousands of files and I only need to download a few, it becomes a nightmare when I try to search for the ones I need in the download directory.
the FAQ section says something about "same pieces is shared between consecutive files". I've used other BitTorrent clients for other OS in the past (uTorrent, BitComet.. etc), none of them have this issue; yeah, they too download portion of files I don't need, but those files never appear in the download folder. So, I don't understand why this technical difficulty is unique to Deluge :?:

cool!!!
Could you also consider adding the option to append some sort of extension (e.g. .deluge!) to the partially-downloaded files?
