Deluge will not seed

Hi everybody !

First of all, deluge is great for downloads, i tried several other clients for downloading and simultaneously browsing and deluge is the best i have found so far.

I am with Ubuntu 10.10
Core version is 1.3.1
Libtorrent version is 0.15.4.0

While deluge is downloading, it seeds normally.
Unfortunately, once deluge finishes a download, it stops seeding.

Deluge stops seeding suddenly right after the file has finished downloading, this cannot be normal.
Even though the orange bar says the torrent is seeding

I tried:

-reading the deluge faq

-googling "deluge not seeding"

-allowing my firewall to allow all incoming, and specifying deluge as being allowed to do so.

-playing around with the folder locations in "edit>>>>preferences", specifying the download folder, the .torrent file folder, etc.

-asking deluge to use ports 49152 to 65535 after using the default ports 6881 to 6891

-uninstalling and reinstalling deluge

Even though there is a big demand for my downloads, i cannot share them and risk being banned from my peer to peer membership for leeching too much.
Sometimes deluge will timidely start seeding a finished download for a few seconds then it stops.

What am i doing wrong ?
Am i the only one with this problem ?

The last alternative I have left if i cannot find a solution to this problem is to seed with another client as i never had these kinds of problems seeding with other clients before.
But that would be a big hassle.

Hi, I too had this problem.

Torrents would download with loads of peers connected, but as soon as the download was completed POOF! no more connections.

I have found the following settings work for me :

Open the options window and select "Bandwidth"

Global Bandwidth Usage

Maximum Connections : 140 (this needs to be at least the maximum number of torrents running multiplied by the maximum connections per torrent)
Maximum Upload Slots : -1
Maximum Download Speed : -1.0
Maximum Upload Speed : -1.0 (I have found that if I set this to say 50k, Deluge will only upload at a max of 45k, Go figure.)
Maximum Half Open Connections : 20
Maximum Connection Attempts per Second : 10

Ignore limits on local network : Checked
Rate limit IP overhead : Checked

Per Torrent Bandwidth Usage

Maximum Connections : 5
Maximum Upload Slots : 5
Maximum Download Speed : -1.0
Maximum Upload Speed : -1.0

Any running torrents will have to be paused and their settings changed to match the above "Per Torrent Bandwidth Usage" settings.

Also bear in mind that as each torrent now only connects to only 5 peers, you may not get full download speed on those torrents, so you'll need to increase the "Maximum Connections" on that torrent, to get more peers to download from. Don't go mad though, or you'll find the seeding torrents stop working again.

You may also want to set the "Maximum Upload Speed" in the global settings to 80% of your upload speed.

Of course, someone will now reply saying I'm talking from my poop-de-chute, but hey, these settings work for me.
