I just looked through ~/.config/deluge/torrentfiles/ and found that there are 1914 torrent files totaling 41.1mb. There is every file I ever downloaded with that particular installation of deluge. Most of these files are flexrss-remnants.
I saw that before: my /tmp folder had these huge amounts of flex-*.torrent files as well - but they are wiped during reboot.
Why does deluge store these files? Is it save to delete them? Why are they stored in ~/.config/deluge/torrentfiles/ and /tmp?
junk/left over torrent files
Re: junk/left over torrent files
Same problem on Windows version. The path is:
E:\Documents and Settings\<username>\deluge\torrentfiles
E:\Documents and Settings\<username>\deluge\torrentfiles

Re: junk/left over torrent files
Not sure why it's done. Perhaps for someone who might want to seed a certain file, but can't, or does not want to re-download the torrent, it might be useful. You can tell Deluge to delete torrent file while removing the downloaded one. If that makes it more credible, uTorrent does the same, saving torrent files in Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\utorrent.
Re: junk/left over torrent files
Deluge needs to store the .torrent files so that it can reload them if you restart Deluge. This is how the persistent state works. We keep a list of .torrent files that are currently loaded into the session, when we start up Deluge we check this list and load the .torrents. If the .torrent files are not there, we cannot load the torrent.hasardeur wrote:I just looked through ~/.config/deluge/torrentfiles/ and found that there are 1914 torrent files totaling 41.1mb. You can safely delete .torrent files of torrents you are no longer downloading/seeding and thats why we offer the option to 'Remove and delete torrent file'.
Re: junk/left over torrent files
I usually use 'Remove and delete torrent file' feature. I dont really know a way to clear the torrent list circumventing that button. But ok, I cleared the folder and keep an eye on it.
Re: junk/left over torrent files
Those torrent files aren't deleted when you use the clear button.
It's that the expected behavior?
