Deluge Theme changing

Post by yiannistrik »

Hallo

I discover the theme folder :\Program Files\Deluge\share\themes

And they are a lot of themes there,
among them and the default.

Is there an easy way( lets say copy something from there somewhere else)
and change the deluge 's theme?

I am using Deluge 0.5.8.5 in windows,
and the default theme have to much light ,
in the night my eyes are killing me, especially when i am tired.

help it is really annoying .

maybe can someone make a plugin for that?

thanks for that great program
keep up the good work

I believe what you are looking for is here: http://members.lycos.co.uk/alexv6/

It's a theme selector program.

thanks

I downloaded and installed the gtk2-runtime-2.12.6-2008-02-02-ash.exe

but has nothing to run.

I read ,but is to much terminology to understand.

it looks like i need to run something else in order to start this environment.

in other words i need more detailed instructions.

I am in windows, right now everything runs great ,with no crashes.

I suspect that i have to compile the deluge like in linux ,

suppose i am right , in what point i will be able to choose the theme?

No, you want to download this one, gtk2_prefs-0.4.1.bin-gtk2.10-win32.zip

You have to extract it to, and run it from the gtk install directory. Which should be somewhere around C:/Program Files/Common Files/GTK/2.0.
It may already contain the file, in which case you're all set, just run it.

And theres plenty of extra themes in this installer package, gtk2-themes-2008-01-21-ash.exe

Maybe I can try to clear things up. (For Win XP or Vista users)

1. After you've extracted folders lib and share from the zip package into the designated C:\Program Files\Common Files\GTK\2.0, look for the Theme Selector by going to Start > Programs > Gtk+ > Theme Selector

2. Be sure that both "Current User" and "Global" selections are the same. In this example (refer to screenie), I have selected Aurora-Midnight. See that I've selected Aurora-Midnight on both Current User and Global. You can preview by closing the Theme Selector and launching it again. Again you can only apply this when Deluge is closed.

3. Launch Deluge back on again and the theme will be applied.

Hope it works and good luck to you all! :D

Actually the gtk2_prefs.exe is better because it shows you a preview of the themes before you apply them, and for reference any program that is currently using gtk+ must be closed to change themes, Pidgin and Gimp come to mind.

Once you have the gtkpref tool downloaded, move the .exe to your Deluge folder and it should work. I saw another thread where Deluge reverted to the start theme, which also happened to me when I tried to run the gtkpref tool from a program files/common files/gtk folder.
