I am currently under the thumb of an ISP who enforces monthly data transfer limits. One of the things I've been thinking would be quite helpful, not only to me, but to everyone else who is in a similar situation, would be some cumulative summary stat totals that could be maintained in Deluge.
I'm not suggesting it generate elaborate graphs or maintain numbers that would allow statistics to be modeled to the very second, but things like "total bytes/Kbytes/Mbytes downloaded", "total bytes/Kbytes/Mbytes uploaded", "total number of torrents completed", etc. and possibly including some minor periodical statistics like "total downloaded in the past 30 days", and "total uploaded in the past 30 days" (possibly with the option to manually reset the counter to zero at the start of a new 30 day period).
While I agree that Deluge is one of a myriad of applications that transfer data to and from the internet, all I'm looking for are some ballpark numbers.... in my case, Deluge is THE major source of monthly bandwidth utilization I have running. This would allow for at least some manner for users who are faced with monthly data transfer limits to estimate at least what Deluge transfers to see where they are in relation to their monthly limit. It would also allow for people to possibly even forecast their usage and make appropriate changes to their Deluge settings to shape their downloading/uploading to avoid hitting any enforced limit.

Re: [feature request] Cumulative Summary Statistics
Could probably extend the Stats plugin to include this.
P.S. Please do not write one long paragraph, it makes it difficult to read.
