Recheck all torrents at start

Post by adi »

Everytime I start Deluge, it rechecks all of the torrents. I have about 10-15 torrents completed (for seeding). It doesn't matter which way I close Deluge. Even if I close it manually. I have this problem on windows xp and Ubuntu, with deluge 0.5.8.5.
Why is that?
It is very annoying, because this means about 5-10 minutes in which my HDD is working like hell and I can't use my PC.

Hmmm. They wanted to fix it in 0.5.8.5.

Yeah... I see people complaining at Development section of the forum.
Apparently, this feature wasn't fixed... Maibe a future release...

Anyways, which was the last version that wasn't doing this recheck? I wold like to do a downgrade.

This is an annoyance especially as i upgraded even though one of the trackers i use hasnt allowed it yet, so im stuck with a client that takes close to 3 hours to check all of my files and one which wont work with one of the main trackers i use :(

Oh, it works! You have to remove deluge and old configuration files (/home/<username>/.config/deluge) then reinstall new version and add the torrents again.
Good luck to you!

I uninstalled Deluge, removed the entire .config/deluge directory, installed Deluge again and added a few torrents.
No dice. It still rechecks every torrent at program start... As a test, I removed all torrents from the list, and added them one at a time and restarting Deluge between adding each torrent.
Result: At the moment I got three torrents added, but only one .fastresume file... :(

Hmm.. right now all my torrents have a .fastresume file... And restarts are therefore very quick... :)

When are .fastresume files supposed to be created? At the time the torrent is complete?

I don't know... I don't think they are created when the torrent is completed... i have two torrents right now incomplete and they have fastresume files.

dids22, I don't know what to say... on my Gutsy x64, deluge 0.5.8.5 it worked... I don't know how deluge works, I took this advice from the "development" section of the forum. A developer said so...
