1.1.9- All torrents vanished

Post by leezer3 »

Right, something rather odd's happened.
I'm running Deluge 1.1.9 on a Ubuntu Hardy install, installed from the GetDeb packages.
I generally access Deluge via VNC, with auto-add for torrents dumped from a SMB share; Nothing special :)

This has been working fine for months, and up and till some time this morning, there were about 150 torrents or so.
I started Deluge last night, and everything was working fine at this point. I then closed the VNC client & dropped two or three torrents into the folder.
Came back this morning, and there are no torrents whatsoever.

First thing I did was to close Deluge and check the logfile- zero bytes.
Checked the folder for saved torrent files, and they've all vanished too, but the downloads are intact.
All the rest of my config is intact.

Anyone with any ideas as to what's happened? I'd quite like to get the torrent files back again, but I'm not really bothered (Otherwise I'd have got round to backing them up :P ), and I'd rather avoid triggering this again if at all possible!

Cheers

You could check for the files in ~/.config/deluge/state

Cheers, everything seems to still be in there at least :)
Any way to re-associate them with the original downloads (A couple of them were in different folders), or will I have to do that manually?

I am currently using the last version (1.2.0) and I am encountering something similar. Maybe it is the default deluge behavior of deluge's auto-add setting, however, I am using it via webui saving the torrent files into the monitored directory through NFS. deluged instantly take care of the new .torrent file, auto-adds it to the download list and lastly move and renames the file into the ~/.config/deluge/state. The problem raises if I want to keep trace of the original .torrent file name, since when it is moved it is also renamed into an alphanumeric name. Is this the normal behavior of deluge or is it something going wrong and thus deleting the original .torrent saved into the monitored directory? Currently I am just copying the .torrent files there, keeping the originals somewhere, in order to avoid losing them - or, better, losing their original name - but it is surely more annoying than directly saving the file by browser and letting it go.

That is the expected behaviour. If you want a copy of your torrent files saved somewhere, set that option in the Downloads preference page.

Did you ever figure out why your torrents were disappearing from Deluge? I have the same problem with unfinished torrents simply disappearing from Deluge when I restart the app.
