Post by deevee »

The site admins refuse to accept it and say it is Deluges problem not theirs.

Yes, that is typical.

We are following the bittorrent spec. What they need to do is calculate the users 'downloaded' amount by taking the torrent size and subtracting the 'left' key.

Clients are expected to report redundant/failed bytes in their 'downloaded' key.

As a side-note to this, I am investigating an issue where Deluge may be a bit over-aggressive and it's causing a higher than normal number of redundant bytes, but I haven't pinned this down yet.

Out of 4 main sites that I visit one has recently banned Deluge for over reporting on uploads and downloads in file size. One 1 site everything is looking good (off just a little bit from what I can see), the other 2 sites I am waiting for Deluge to be banned as they also over report. I was forced to try another 2 clients and both reported correctly. When I say over reporting it is showing and reporting more upload / download megs/gigs than the true file size. I sure hope this will be cured in an upcoming release as once a client gets banned it is very hard to get them to retest and approve a client for use.
