Move To When Completed Issue

Post by thelizardking »

Sorry if this has been posted but I'm on an Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop with Deluge 1.2.0_rc1 (Which looks fantastic by the way, the reason I dropped uTorrent). During my migration from uTorrent to Deluge I set up Deluge to download to a "Leeching" folder and then move completed torrents to a "Seeding" folder. When I add an existing torrent it searches the leeching folder for the existing data. Shouldn't it search the seeding (move to when completed) folder for the existing data? Also when I move a torrent data folder over to the leeching folder to overcome this and add the torrent, it does verify integrity but does not then move my file back to Seeding. These are all little things that don't really apply with new torrents but I figured I'd tell ya guys and dolls anyway.

Not really. No torrent client does that, not even Vuze, where you can actually specify "Add torrent for Seeding only". When you add something you already have data for, you need to point the client to the data location. If it checks the data and the whole thing is complete, it'll start seeding.

I probably worded my issue poorly. I was just commenting on how it looked in my leeching folder instead of my seeding folder to see if a torrent was complete. My second issue is moot if the first issue is resolved.

If you are adding a torrent that has already completed downloading, you should just point it to your seeding folder when adding it. Not quite automatic, but it seems this would only be necessary when you first switch from another client.
