It would be nice if Deluge has an automatic plugin installer / uninstaller. Maybe a .deluge filetype. This way all users have to do is click on a plug (such as FlexRSS.deluge) and it would automatically place the correct files in the correct location depending on platform.
Also, it would be nice if a link to http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/deluge-torrent/ was on the main page.
Last, it would be good to have a plugin portal or a wiki or something so people can put their plugins up. I see a few plugins in the forum that are not found on the Plugins page. It would be nice to have them all in one spot.
Just a few ideas to make deluge a little better. Cannot wait for the official release of 1.2!
Plugin Installer & Other Ideas
Re: Plugin Installer & Other Ideas
Plugins can be built as python .egg files, and installing them is as complicated as clicking "Install Plugin" in the preferences window, which will then place the files in the correct location depending upon the platform.DUser wrote:It would be nice if Deluge has an automatic plugin installer / uninstaller. I don't think any link to an idea brainstorming location should be put on the home page until it has been decided which one will actually be used.
A plugin portal was discussed ages ago, just finding the time to build one. If we got this then we would of course tie the clients into it and make it easier still to install plugins.

You can currently install a plugin via the install plugin button on the plugin preferences page.DUser wrote:It would be nice if Deluge has an automatic plugin installer / uninstaller. Plugins are distributed as .egg files which are cross-platform.

The plugin page is open to anyone so there's nothing stopping them from putting their plugin on the wiki.
That said there has been talk about creating a proper plugin portal for awhile, so just be patient
