Blocklist Supported Formats

Post by johnnyg »

The blocklist plugin in deluge 1.2 will be a complete rewrite of that in version 1.1.9.
It will be more flexible in that formats (e.g. emule) and compression (e.g. gzip) won't be tied together allowing for any combination of the two.
So what formats / compression types would you like to see supported in the new blocklist plugin?
If you choose other, please specify by posting the name (and preferably a link to it).

I think peerguardian seems a very good option since 64-bit Windows Vista and also Windows 7 has been missing support for peerguardian. It would give those such users the ability to use peerguardian lists for Deluge at least.

Hello,

Be really happy to see this proposition, i use list from i-blocklist and are some different formats, for this reason , it will be very great to have the possibility to have all formats supported and if are possible to can put to 2 lists.

I voted other.
The other is Bluetack. Peerguardian gets their ip filters from Bluetack. The makers of peerguardian adjust their software to update from Bluetack's webpage. (2nd link).

http://www.bluetack.co.uk/forums/index.php

http://www.bluetack.co.uk/config/ - Every list they make and update on a page. The page has links, ip filter names, dates, filesize. Level 1 is p2p, Level 2 is Government, Level 3 is Education. You have to have an account to view them. Registration is free. I never seen the links change to the lists, so it has always been easy to update.

Other filters.

Bluetack maintains the following lists:
  • [np]ipfilter.dat.gz - emule format with gzip compression
  • [p]splist.zip - safepeer format with zip compression
all of which are compatible with the new blocklist :D
