Don't use file_mode and dir_mode, you may run into problems.
Personally I use just UID and GID and it works perfectly fine. If you're using file_mode instead of fmode then the default UID and GID should be 1000.

You can use filebot to soft or hardlink to your torrent files. That's what I'm doing with the AMC script.
