when people switch to deluge you need to manually switch you torrent from your old client to deluge how about a plug in that can automatically switches them on install or on startup

there's currently a python script that does it.
not sure if it's really worth making a plugin out of it.

Since RC8 deluge attempts
to automatically upgrade a 0.5.x state file to new format as you can see in the
Changelog
Although I recommend making a backup of you're Deluge configuration folder before upgrading in case you wish to rollback to 0.5 or if anything goes wrong
