Daemon Authentication?

One thing that really interested me about this new client-server model for deluge is the potential for remote daemon access.
One could run the daemon on one machine and the webUI on another, or even connect to the daemon running on a seedbox with the GTK client from home.
However, as it stands, it looks like there has been no authentication method implemented for the 0.6 daemon at this point. That is to say, anyone can connect to the daemon assuming they know (read: figure out) the port. This would make remote connections a very bad idea.
Are there any plans to implement some sort of authentication measure to the deluge client-server protocol?
