How to seed properly with Desired Ratio plugin

Post by MrClearPore »

First of all, let me say that Deluge is the best BitTorrent client I've ever used for *nix :)
Now, to my problem:

I noticed that, by default, torrents are seeded indefinitely in Deluge. What I did was change that default setting to 1.0, and then used the Desired Ratio plugin to seed some of the torrents indefinitely by setting these torrents to "Not Set" in the Desired Ratio plugin. Now, I'm assuming that the "Not Set" property means indefinitely (infinity) in the plugin. After making those changes, I'm noticing that *all* the torrents stop seeding after 1.0 ratio, including the ones I explicitly set to seed indefinitely in the plugin.

Basically, what I'm asking is this: am I using the plugin correctly in the above paragraph? If not, how can I use the Desired Ratio plugin in conjunction with the main Deluge program to seed all torrents to a desired ratio, and use the Desired Ratio plugin to set specific torrents to seed indefinitly? Is there an alternate solution for this?

Thanks for any help! :)

I think that plugin should override default setting (preferences) if something is defined. Also that plugin should freely allow to set any ratio instead of that premade list.

I have been fighting with same problems too.

Check out:

I also encountered another problem. For some reason file what I'm trying to seed disappears from list all the time. And yes, I did disable ratio setting, ratio plugin and I also unchecked option to remove complete downloads.

I don't know what's wrong. At least it seems that either those options are still working like those would be on, or something else is broken.
