deluge 0.5.6 and connections limit

hi to all, i use deluge 0.5.6 rpm package on mandriva 2008.0
i've seen that the number of total connections does not reach the connection limit number that i set up to 300.
In deluge's previous releases the number of established connections was always close to the limit.
For example, in this moment i've "only" 140 connections on 300.
The torrents that i'm downloading have a lot of peers, so i don't understand why deluge doesnt' connect to them.
Thank you.
Bye

For me the connections saturate my Global Max. Make sure to check what your settings are, as the Per Torrent Max Connections may be the limiting factor. For eg. if you alloted 500 Max connections and the Per Torrent Max is 250, well 250 would be the limiting factor in this example if you were to have 1 Torrent running.

So pretty much check [Preferences --> Bandwidth], and make sure the max number is higher then the Per Torrent amount.

you also might wanna tweak the max half open settings. in 0.5.5 it didnt exist, and deluge would try to connect to as many peers as quickly as possible, which crashed some routers. if your router can stand it, and you're not a windows user, try allowing more half open connections.

thanks to all.

@ Mojo: my Per Torrent amount Connections is set to -1, so, i think, this is not the problem.

@ Markybob: exactly what is an half open connection? now i set it to 200, before it was set to 8.

if i try to set up an high number of half open connections, deluge crashes at next start.
