Apple Silicon

Post by zaque »

I just got a new MacBook, running Tahoe 26.4.1 and when I ran Deluge for the first time I got a message that it won't be compatible with an upcoming update, and needs to be updated to run on Apple Silicon. I'm no techie, and I can't find any info if this is already available or in the works?

We don't currently have a Mac developer on the team, although we do have a few threads in here that show how to run using brew.

No idea if that would be possible/working on Apple Silicon, but if i recall (not a mac user) there is a translation thing - i think called Rosetta? - that may be useful.

Currently, and me not having an Apple Silicon machine to test on, I don't think it is possible to natively run and there is no .app built with Apple Silicon in mind.

Docker would be my suggestion, and a quick google search shows that there are ways to run Docker on Apple Silicon - but I have no experience doing so or with Mac's that run M chips in general...but take a look at some of the other threads in this section. (Especifically the ETA post at the top)

Here is the latest .app built into an .app, you can try it out https://www.dropbox.com/s/c51t7y5kh7za2 ... pp.7z?dl=1 - the ETA post is the thread where this was posted and has been discussed previously.
