Active port '0'

Post by Oaky »

Hello, I am extremely new to all torrenting and this is my first attempt at using deluge. I have created a port forwarding on my router, as well as allowing my port through my firewall by creating a new rule. But the issue is that when I go to the network preferences page the active port is said to be '0' even though my the port in the typing section is 49153. The port issue icon has a red circle with a white line through it and the tracker status has shown both 'error: permission denied' and 'Error: a connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host failed to respond'
Please help
I believe I am on the newest version of deluge and I am using malwarbytes as a VPN which is also my proxy server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :D

Hi Oaky,

Welcome to torrenting :), going to try to give you a good explanation and solve your issue.

Could you answer a few questions, so we can step by step confirm certain settings.

- What Linux distro are you using?
- Could you in the terminal do a ( ss -tulpn | grep deluge or if that does not work do a netstat -tulpn | grep deluge) on the machine that deluged (deluge daemon) is running.

This way we can see what ipaddress and port deluge is listening on. After we know this, then we can go and look at the portforwarding on your router.
