Sudden Issue with Port, suggesting no incoming connections.

Post by nDuktion »

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all doing well.

I've been using Deluge for around 4 months now and I must say as a client, Deluge is superb. It's simple, effective and really easy to interpret especially as a new comer to such field.

I am new to these sort of clients and applications and it has been working flawlessly ever since I installed it.

This being said, yesterday and this morning I have noticed a little error poke in the bottom right corner of the Deluge Client with the text 'Port Issue' as can be shown here:

Image

Upon inspection, it reads that the client is unable to establish any incoming connections. When clicking the icon my 'Preferences' tab is opened shown here:

When attempting to test active port on both random and manual, they both return the Warning triangle symbol, the client seems to pull peer's but is unable to form a connection to them shown here:

I assume there seems to be an issue with port-forwarding, but I am not entirely sure what could have caused this as no major changes were made to the client apart from a dark-ui interface mod, which was performed a month prior. Could this be an issue with the router?

As mentioned before, I am still new to this scene and do not have extensive knowledge on these subjects but I will do my best to understand.

Operating system: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045
System type: x64-based PC
Deluge version: 2.1.1
Client: 2.1.1
libtorrent: 1.2.15.0

Me, myself and I also want to know the answer to this. I went as far as to disable all firewalls, but still get the port issue in the corner. Deluge is now effectively useless because of this. Help.

An Update to this post.

I have seemingly found a fix for this- whether intentional or not, this approach has worked for me so far.

If you use any 3rd party anti-virus applications such as Avast, do the following:
1) Go into the anti-virus settings and disable the Anti-virus' own firewall.
2) Close all applications that are using the internet
3) Manually open and run the Deluge executable (not the thin client 'deluged)
4) You should be met with the "Windows Firewall has some features of this app". Check the "private" unless needed otherwise.
5) Deluge should open, go into preferences > Check Active Port. You should get a checkmark instead of the annoying triangle.

I personally tried this with Deluge still open from step one, but I assume the instructions listed is the better way. I also downloaded and seeded a newer, more demanded torrent. Turns out I not only had port-forwarding issues, but nobody wanted the torrents I was seeding lol.

If you do not use any 3rd party anti-virus and simply rely on Windows Defender, you may need to manually allow the program to perform through Windows Defender's Allow App's function.

Again, this is all experimental- I hope this fix works for anyone else suffering the same problem. I hope a real fix is offered for this problem. Much love.
