hello,
I ran into an issue of losing all my torrents today, but thankfully had:
/.config/deluge/archive/state-*.tar.xz to recover most of my torrents from.
these archives contain the files:
torrents.fastresume
torrents.state
torrents.fastresume.bak
torrents.state.bak
archive_message.txt
archive_message.txt contents:
"Bad shutdown detected so archiving state files"
Question: I assume deluge created this backup due to a bad shutdown as the archive message error says? Can I force a backup myself and have it create one manually? I can't seem to find the option to create these archive backups and would like to do so as I don't want to run into another mishap like this again.
* feel like i'm answering my own question here: i guess i'll create a daily script to backup torrents.* in /state folder
archive folder (states backup)
Re: archive folder (states backup)
It's only available to trigger from deluge API itself, so would need a client script or plugin for that, though as you said, can just backup manually from script/cron/systemd-timer etc.
Btw, it's generated upon every non-graceful shutdown(at next startup) before trying to load state(also done when needing fixup old state), and when 10 backups made, then deletes oldest one. Just for info.
