Upgrade from 1.3.15 or not?

I'm using the thin client locally, and have no control over the server version (which is 1.3.15). Is there any reason for me to upgrade to the 2.x windows client? Are they even compatible?
Sorry for the newbie question, but I remember I had some issues with an earlier 2.x version.

No not compatible, so stick to v1.3.15 then, until server updates to 2.x.

I think it might be possible to upgrade but it depends on your current machine version
