How to move external drive's torrents to a different PC

I have a external dive with thousands of torrents. and their opened data - all nicely organized.

I have a new PC install of Deluge. I have to manually add each torrent and point it to my nicely organized folders in order to start sharing again. thousands of times.

I love sharing with the community- but there must be an easier way.

someone told me to take my %appdata% folder and transfer it to my new PC. and did that - all the torrents show up - - - as errors - - - i can't even figure out how to redirect these to the working folders.

such a transfer is possible by:
- pausing all torrents on the former computer
- mounting the disk with the exact same path to the new computer
- install the same Deluge version, check it's not running, and copy your former profile

It seems you figured out already. Common issues are permissions and path. This last one, if different, may be circumvent with symlink ("mklink /D" under Windows). Once done, I recommend to make a force recheck to confirm torrents are recognized as full. And only at this point, resume all items.

The theory is simple and often the grip root is only one of the items above.

Done and done!

thank you so much! i wouldn't have thought to pause the torrents. and it looks like my drive letters were in the wrong spot!

You just saved me hours of manually readding 1000 torrents.

up and running for the first time in almost a year.

Many many thanks!
