Curl plugin

Does a plugin exist that could curl a website and show the result in a textfield somewhere within deluge?
I'm running deluge behind a VPN and would like to see my VPN status with a glance. I could look at the external IP displayed at the bottom corner, but it would be much more convenient if I could curl my VPN provider to get the status and show the message somewhere. Is there a plugin that can do this? Or is there another way to achieve this?
