Deluge 0.5.5 crashes on creating with a 14.0 GB folder

Post by nowshining »

I wanted to torrent my whole p2p shared files folder and it's on my internal other disk drive, i went to do that with the plugin to create a torrent, IT CRASHES and the folder with folders and files is 14.0 GB - it did create a .torrent file that's 9mb or so however inserting it into the program crashes it fully - a restart of the program is fine. I don't know exactly if the file has all contents or not, but gedit sucks now it used to be able to open .torrent files ugh! now it can't read them.. Anyway i'm running An update from feisty to Gutsy 7.10 - all updates and the version in synaptic was old so I did download and install the newer version. The other drive is NTFS formatted. This folder is a folder I used with frostwire when I used windows just to let u know.. Also I can't seem to be able to get my old uploads working even in the exact same structure as the old one ugh!....

2.6.22-12 kernel due to probs with the .13/.14 kernel I had to stay back on the old one as the others won't boot up ATA/IDE/SATA drives on intel boards - known prob. bug reports filed on that..

Dell 4600I - FX5200 underclocked a bit..

"** (deluge:9603): WARNING **: Invalid borders specified for theme pixmap:
/home/nowshining/.themes/Kougyoku/gtk-2.0/button-default.png,
borders don't fit within the image" = NORMAL due to my theme - it says that on everything just about - but everything works fine - it's theme prob. Also to stop recently files in the menu - the only solution was to make it a directory to stop it as I Don't want recent docs, etc.. so that is normal..

you should upgrade to 0.5.6rc1 and see if it works. and post a link to the torrent if it still doesnt work

that download page is only updated on full releases, not rc's. for rc's, you can head to our main download site at http://download.deluge-torrent.org/ which includes packages for the most popular distributions. also, for a torrent that large, you should increase the piece size (there's an option for this when you create the torrent). please dont use the default size, which is only suitable for small torrents

it doesn't seem like it's showing all the contents and i moved the torrent file to a folder within the dedicated folder for uploads and started it and it looks like it's trying to download :/ which it should just say 100% and I moved it back and same thing, the .torrent in on my ext3 partition while the contents are on my NTFS one and yes it is writable..

okay i think I know why my drive ntfs is called old backup, and the shared files are located in a p2p folder but it is showing only for example..

shared files/

if u want to see a copy of the .torrent file or anyone for any reason it is here..

http://tinyload.com/5612

edit: tried creating the torrent file in the p2p on the other drive and still no go.. :( sometimes it does look like it's seeing them in the statistics but then retracts to trying to download the files..
