I've got a headless Arch Linux server, running deluge. It has run for several years without a hitch.
However, some days ago, after a system reboot, deluge wouldn't completely start, I was unable to connect to it, with my thin client and with the web UI.
The problem seems to come from my profile, as moving the folder lets deluge start normally, and I can connect to it.
Problem is, I've got tens of torrents that I want to keep seeding, and I don't want to add them again manually (especially since I have the habit of renaming folders and files in deluge, that would take me days).
I've tried to generate a new profile then copy my old .config/deluge/state folder to it, but we're back to deluge not starting completely.
For information, starting deluged manually with log level info just gives me a list of "Torrent *** added by user:".
Is there a way to repair my profile?
Broke my deluge profile
Re: Broke my deluge profile
I have the same problem and I registered on this forum to suggest deleting or moving the ~/.config/deluge/state/torrents.fastresume and ~/.config/deluge/state/torrents.fastresume.bak files. After you do that, then try launching Deluge again. Worked for me.
Re: Broke my deluge profile
Actually, Deluge seems to re-break itself pretty quickly again after removing those files. I tried a few other things to try to fix it but so far am not finding anything that works. I think I will be switching to another torrent client in the future, which is sad because I really liked Deluge, but this sort of thing is happening more and more often for me.
Re: Broke my deluge profile
I noticed you are both on Arch. I wonder if it has to do with the libtorrent updates recently.
Re: Broke my deluge profile
Good call Shryp, that's probably it, as arch by default installs latest libtorrent unless blacklisted, instead of recommended v1.0.9. If you don't have the old v1.0.9 in your cache, then pm me and ill send it to you(x86_64 only)... Though, arch added v1.1.1 yesterday or something and that was supposed to bring compatibility back with deluge but unconfirmed as of yet if it actually is fully compatible.
EDIT: Ohh, the v1.1.1 is in the testing repo, so if not having enabled that, then you're stuck with v1.1 which is known to be problematic(at times at least and with some configs).
Also, defaultxr, thanks mate for registering just for helping a fellow out. Very nice

Re: Broke my deluge profile
Success! Even after obtaining both 1.0.9 and the newest libtorrent i was stuck, but this also worked for medefaultxr wrote:I have the same problem and I registered on this forum to suggest deleting or moving the ~/.config/deluge/state/torrents.fastresume and ~/.config/deluge/state/torrents.fastresume.bak files.
