Deluge Daemon vs "regular" Deluge?

What are the advantages/disadvantages of using the Daemon (vs. "regular Deluge)?
Is it only to be able to connect remotely to Deluge?

A deluge daemon runs in the background without a UI and you can use other clients to connect to it.
