Is it possible to run Deluge 0.5.8.9 on Ubuntu Server edition currently using 7.10 but might upgrade to 8.04 soon. I use a couple of private trackers that do not allow beta clients such as the Deluge 0.6 and since I do not have a desktop installed I was wanting to know if I could use Deluge 0.5.8.9 without the gui only using the webui to configure and control it? I really hate the other headless options currently available and I really like deluge on my desktop computer but would prefer if I could move it to the server so I could shut down the desktop when not needed having to keep it running just for bit torrent is a little wasteful.

I'm pretty sure you can't run the current stable version on a headless system as the core isn't separated like it is in the new 0.6 branch. If you really wanted to run Deluge, you could always install a very lightweight window manager like Openbox or something, shouldn't hinder the performance of the server that much.
