Help unraring and moving to specific folder?

Post by roseysd850 »

Hello, Im coming from qBittorrent where i used this to do what i needed:

Code: Select all

unrar x -r %f/%n/*.rar /mnt/mediaserver/readyforplex/
Im running deluge-webui on a headless install of ubuntu server 14.04.1.

I've tried initializing the Extractor plugin but there dont seem to be any options as to folders and such, and it doesn't even seem to extract rar'd files in the parent folder.

I tried searching for some easier plugins to use, it seems like this shouldn't be that hard, torrents have been around for 10+ years now, but Im at a complete loss. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you.. I read that BEFORE posting. If it helps, im on Deluge 1.3.6, with whatever libtorrent version comes with that on the ubuntu repositories.

Now can you push me in the right direction? I wouldn't be asking if google had been helpful. Thanks for your time.

You are demanding my help?
We have to deal with hundreds of posts so please submit support requests effectively and succinctly to save our time and your time.

The most important pieces of information we need when you make a support request will be:

Deluge Version
Libtorrent Version
Operating System Version
You read it yet failed to provide the basic information on what Deluge version you are using which in this case it is very relevant, hence my highlighting of the support post. Also if you are facing an issue then you update to the latest version, see if it is still an issue and go from there.

It's not relevant for this specific instance but for the libtorrent version saying it's the one with the OS is patently not good enough, it's very straightforward for you to get the version (detailed in the FAQ) so again not reading the information provided.

I can also show you that a google search would give you results that hint at the issue: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=delug ... tor+plugin

Deluge webui 1.3.6 (even added the deluge ppa. and couldnt get ubuntu to update to anything newer)
Libtorrent 0.16.18.0
Ubuntu server 14.04.1

Ive done the same googling you have. I didnt come here for just the fun times, if the answers to my issues are in those google reports then I don't understand them and still need help. Was never a demand, just a request.

I am endlessly asking users what version and informing them to upgrade to latest version and certainly not impressed when you say you have read the topic, even going as far as to add extra emphasis, yet still hadn't provide the information. It's quite the opposite of fun times.

The google results don't have the specific answer but they do hint at the fact that there was no WebUI page for the Extractor plugin (at that time), however reading the Changelog for the latest releases you would see that there is now an option for that plus additional fixes to the plugin.

If you are having problems with upgrading then detail the problems, don't just say "doesn't work", this is again part of effectively reporting an issue. It is odd however because no one else has reported issues with using the PPA and I use it myself on 14.04.
