not allocate unnecessary files in multi-files torrents

you know, at now if you choose not all files (for ex. only 3.avi) from torrent (that consist of 1.avi, 2.avi, 3.avi) to download there will be created not only the 3.avi but with high probability 2.avi also because of chunk (piece) size
is it possible to solve this like I saw in uTorrent - instead of 2.avi uT creates small file with size not more than 1 piece and keeps that extra piece in it? that will save a lot space from wasting
ps.. I think I am not first with this idea and you already discussed it but I cant find it, sorry
