Deluge Forum

Hello all,

I use a system running Linux Mint 15 on an ext4 partition and am moderately competent in Linux administration. I am using this from behind a university proxy. I have not used torrents before.

I have installed Deluge 1.3.6 (using libtorrent 0.16.7.0) using APT and set up the proxy with the same settings I use for Mozilla Firefox 26.0. I have setup port 56881 to accept both input and output and configured Deluge to use the same for both incoming and outgoing connections (having turned off random port selection). I have left UPnP selected as turning it off seemed to make no difference. I am using the GTK UI and have not enabled any plugins. Now,the problem is that, whenever I try to download a torrent it just shows "No incoming connections". I have tried this with quite a few recent torrents.

Please find attached my debug log. Is there anything that you think I am doing wrong ?

I am having the same problem, the client reports this on the bottom status bar. But I continue to ignore it because:

My torrents are downloading and uploading properly.
If my settings were causing a issue with the torrent site, that I use;
they would be the 1st ones to complain to me about anything I configured incorrect.

Now, not to make things more confusing to you, but to make it clear how your setting differ from mine ..........

I'm using Mint 13
My connection is an DSL ISP
I'm using Deluge 1.3.5 (More than likely because Mint 15 has the latest packages)
I'm using the random ports.
I configured my proxy as a "local" because im on a private IP.


I would also, have to say that since your connecting to a public IP (I'm assuming a university) they are blocking that kind of traffic on their servers. Which I have heard that many ISP's and public/corporate IT departments do.
P2P sharing is a consept that many in our society; do not share and believe in, AND that they are losing a lot of money because:

They want you to buy a copy of that Video/Music, that you download for your entertainment.
P2P sharing takes the monopoly-control out of their hands and makes media freely and easily available to the whole world.

My only other suggestion, would be to find an ISP that you could connect, using a private IP.

OR

Ask some of your fellow students, if they are using tors, and how they did it.
