A debug version

Hi all,
Is it possible to run deluge in a debug environment? Something like what pidgin offers, a debug version where a window which displays the debug messages or whatever is happening. That would lead to perhaps some more precise bugs which we can file. There could also be a log which would log all the debug messages. Another way perhaps might be using gdb with the debugging symbols but it would be cool What do u think about this? http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/blog could be a good place to post stuff about how people can do stuff. That's another place which has not been used sadly
I'm looking at markybob and/or zachlib to give us some pointers on this
