Changing .conf files does nothing

Hi,

I am running Deluge on my server as a daemon. I need to deactivate a plug-in (blocklist) that I suspect is causing an error by blocking the IP of one of my favorite private trackers. I opened /home/user/.config/deluge/core.conf to delete the blocklist plug-in from the list of active plugins and restarted my computer. After restarting the list had regenerated with blocklist still present.
Can someone tell me if this is a feature of Deluge where you cannot configure it through .conf files? I would like to avoid setting up a ThinClient setup if I have to and rather use command line methods to setup Deluge. Thanks in advance.

You need to stop the daemon before changing a config file otherwise it will overwrite your changes.
Also you don't need to restart the computer.

Setting up the thinclient is not exactly arduous:

1. Enable remote connections
2. Add user/pass to auth file
3. In client connection manager add server ip and user details
