Hi all .. I have an Ubuntu machine on which I am currently downloading a 160 GB torrent, which is done downloading about half way ... I now want to move my operations to another Ubuntu machine, but I want to preserve the data I've already downloaded so far ..

So if I install Deluge on the new machine and place the same downloaded data in the Downloads folder, and feed it the original torrent file, will it resume downloading from where downloading was stopped on the previous Ubuntu machine, or will it wipe out all this data and start downloading from the beginning ?

Thanks in advance for your help :)

You can either:
  • Copy the config's state folder which include state and fastresume data to the new machine.
    or
  • Add the torrent in paused state and do a forced recheck then start downloading again.
The second method would take a while on a very large torrent.

Thanks for your help ! :)

Regarding first option, where is the config state folder that I need to copy over ? And from what I understand, I just need to copy over this one folder and all its contents onto the new machine, overwriting the existing folder that may exist there ... And this is the only thing that is needed ... Correct ?

Regarding second option, how to add a torrent in paused state .. ? Because whenever I add a torrent, Deluge starts to download it immediately ..
