Slow internet and disconnection while running Deluge

Hi,

I am fairly new to running Linux, and Deluge. I using Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick?), Deluge 1.3.1, and I am not sure about the libtorrent version. I immediately switched to Deluge after installing Ubuntu because of Transmission's lack of options. The problem is now every time I run Deluge, I cannot browse the internet and eventually I will be disconnected from my LAN and have to restart networking. Also, the hardware I am using for internet, is a Linksys WUSB54G (RT2500USB) wireless adapter and an Actiontec MI242WR as the router/modem. I know that this router has a terribly inadequate NAT table, and have been able to deal with that before. I usually run my torrents at full speed during the night when no one is using the bandwith.

I am operating on Verizon FIOS and have a decent amount of bandwith (last test was at 7127/4036 Kbps). When I was running Windows as my main system, I would use uTorrent and never have any troubles with bandwith unless I was downloading at full speed. On Ubuntu & Deluge, I could be downloading at say a couple hundred kb/s, even maybe under a hundred, and my internet speed slows to a crawl and when I leave Deluge on when not browsing, my internet eventually disconnects.

I have tried messing around with bandwith settings. I have lowered them to even be optimized for a slow connection and still experience trouble. I would like to stay with something lightweight and not switch to something bulky, like Vuze.
