COMPLETE and INCOMPLETE

Hello,

First off, I am loving Deluge!
It really is a great piece of software.

Currently, I have Deluge running on an Ubuntu Linux box that I leave on 24/7.
I’ve shared my completed downloads folder on my home network and I’ve configured Deluge with an auto load folder that I also share on the network.

So, from my PC upstairs or my Mac I can search for torrents and simple save them in the auto load folder on my download PC. Then, when they’re finished downloading I can just grab them. With this setup I can go for weeks without even having to touch my Linux box. It’s awesome!

However, I do have one slight complaint.
Unlike Shareaza, my previous torrent-download application (which Deluge is superior to in almost every way), my download files are not separated into COMPLETE and INCOMPLETE. So, unless I actually switch over to my Linux box and check the Deluge application to see if the download is complete, I can’t easily tell. Even the size of the file reads the fully downloaded file size, even if it isn’t.

Am I just missing something here? Does Deluge have this feature and I am just too blind or dumb to find it?
If so, please tell me what I need to do here.
If not, then I think that this would be a very handy option to add, especially considering that the auto load feature is there already. At the very least, a simple text file that contains a list of incomplete downloads would be helpful until support for separate folders has been implemented.

Anyway, let me know what you think.

Cheers!

Did You try using "move torrent plugin"?
You can have one download folder for uncomplete files and have them moved into "finished" folder as soon as they are finished.

Cool. I didn't know that.
I'll look into that tonight.
Still, it seems like it would be a pretty basic feature to come standard with Deluge (more standard than the auto load folder).

Thanks!

Hello,

Unless I'm missing something, the "move torrent" plugin simply moves a file. It doesn't automatically do it when the download is completed. That's the feature that I'm looking for. I don't even want to see the file in the "Completed" folder until it actually is complete.

Regards.

You're missing something :)
Did you read the info:

Code: Select all

Move Torrent
By: Marcos Pinto
Version: 0.2

This plugin allows users to move the torrent to a different directory without having to remove and re-add the torrent. This feature can be found by right-clicking on a torrent.
Furthermore, it allows the user to automatically have finished torrents moved to a different folder.
Note: Files can currently only be moved within the same partition
Enable it, in preferences (for that plugin) you can specify folder.

Hi,

It wasn’t immediately obvious that, in addition to marking the checkbox for “Move Torrent” in the plug-ins section (which I did previously), I also had to right-click on the “Move Torrent” plug-in (in that same list) to get a preferences button to appear at the bottom. Clicking preferences allowed me to configure Deluge to automatically move all completed downloads to another folder. So, now I have Deluge configured to download everything to a folder called “Incomplete” and I have the “Move Torrent” plug-in configured to move all completed downloads from the “Incomplete” folder to a folder called “Complete”. I’ve shared these two folders and the “auto load” folder on my home network and now, unless I need to do some work on my Linux PC, I don’t even need to physically touch it when downloading torrents. Cool!

Thanks for all your help!

Hello,

Actually, "Move Torrent" doesn't seem to work properly after all.
It says that I am trying to move the file to a different partition (and that I can't do that), but I'm not.
I'm moving it to another file in the same partition.

Is this a bug?

No.
It's a feature :)
