Redownloading parts on restart

I'm having an issue where I download files and then after I quit deluge and restart it, it will say some files were only 80% downloaded and finish downloading the files (again). Is anybody else experience this issue? I'm on a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04 with deluge 1.2.2

Upon further testing, I've noticed that if I "Force Re-Check" on files, it recognizes that it didn't download the whole thing so it finishes again. I have to do this 2 or 3 times before it's finished.

It happens on multiple trackers.

I just upgraded to 1.3.0-rc1 and it's still happening :(

I have the exact same problem. It looks to be a bug I think.

If I download a torrent and let it finish to 100%, then try to extract the file from the multi-rar torrent, it doesn't extract. If I force a re-check within deluge the torrent thinks it hasn't finished downloading and starts from 98 to 99% again. I can do this as many times as I like but the damn torrent never finishes. If I move the files over to my Windows machine and finish the torrent off with uTorrent, it finishes perfectly fine.

Is there any bugs raised on this issue? It appears to be extremely detrimental to Deluge right now.

I did a fresh install of Ubuntu on my system and installed deluge. Everything worked fine, the bug was gone! But then yesterday I did a system update and the bug returned! I'm really confused now because I didn't think any deluge packages would have been affected since I had previously installed deluge and those packages would have been upgraded during that install right? But clearly the system update broke deluge because it was working fine for 4 days before I finally did the initial system update.

Interesting.

Well I did a sudo apt-get update today and noticed the following items:

$ sudo apt-get upgrade
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages have been kept back:
libtorrent-rasterbar5 python-libtorrent
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 2 not upgraded.

As you can see there are some packages which have been held back, and these also are items used by Deluge. So I'm thinking, I wonder if there's some form of dependency issue which an Ubuntu upgrade is breaking? Well, I've now run the following dist-upgrade command to see if this will fix the issue. I'll report back and let you know after a few tests, but I'm not holding my breath. It might be worthwhile for you to check your system upgrades to and see if any packages require the sudo apt-get dist-upgrade command.

$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Calculating upgrade... Done
The following NEW packages will be installed:
libboost-filesystem1.40.0 libboost-python1.40.0 libboost-system1.40.0 libboost-thread1.40.0
The following packages will be upgraded:
libtorrent-rasterbar5 python-libtorrent
2 upgraded, 4 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 1,933kB of archives.
After this operation, 618kB of additional disk space will be used.
Do you want to continue [Y/n]? Y

The issue seems to be fixed for me after upgrading to those packages.

Ah nice - so you had the same packages held back by apt-get? I haven't extensively tested mine just yet, but it sounds good from your tests though :)

I guess this is one to note for anybody else which may come forward with this issue too.

Bah, nevermind! Somehow this error has returned! :( I'm going to try downgrading libtorrent-rasterbar5

I looked at my /var/log/apt/history.log file and this is the long list of packages that were upgraded right before the bug became present

This is pretty frustrating. Even weirder I've noticed it only happening on the 2 most popular private music trackers, never on any of the popular movies/tv trackers or ubuntu, etc. I checked my apt log too and initially libtorrent-rasterbar5-1.4.10-1 is installed and then as I noted I upgraded the package to libtorrent-rasterbar5-1.4.10-2. But libtorrent was not upgraded in that long list of upgrades that made this bug present. Anyone have any idea?

I'm having the same issue, could it be that this is a very old bug? I found this ticket:
http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/ticket/295

Seems to be similar.
