UDP connection

Post by rockettt »

Everytime I run my Deluge 1.2.1, it tries to connect to an IP address with UDP. The IP address trying to connect is different each time I open deluge. My firewall shows it as a suspicious connection. Can I allow the connection to establish? Is it safe? Please help me by providing necessary information regarding those connections.

Have you tried a Domain service to identify the addresses?

Do you have uPnP turned on?

Is it simply Deluge opening itself to UDP connections?

I am assuming you are talking about a software firewall. The firewall is simply asking if you trust the Deluge application. So yes in order to enable uploading you will need to create a rule for Deluge to be allowed to open incoming connections.

There are many tutorials on the internet for configuring torrent applications with software and router based firewalls that can give you more info.

i haven't tried any domain service to identify the IP address. I'm not sure of my uPnP to be turned ON or OFF. Yes, It is deluge opening itself to those connections.

I think that my firewall is asking just whether to allow deluge to connect. As some say that many tutorials are available to configure torrent applications with software firewall, can you give me the link where i can find some of them?

Thank you.
