Deluge opens too many connections = router crash

Deluge opens a lot of connections. My router DIR-655 is crashing. I have not close to 1500 sessions open, normal is about 100 so at least 1400 connections belongs to Deluge.

I have changed Deluges network options to only have a max of 40 connections. Still it opens up many.. Why is this? :?

(I run Deluge under Linux Mint)

Try changing the max half-open connections to something like 10-20.

I have the exact same problem. I also use the D-Link DIR-655, and whenever I use Deluge, it downloads normally for a few minutes, then slows down and eventually crashes completely.
The weird thing is, torrenting works just fine with all my other computers (running Windows) with the exact same torrent client settings. What does this mean?
