Connection Manager problem

I was using deluge for quite awhile and like it a lot.

Some time ago after some upgrades, every time I'd start deluge, the connection manager would pop up and show one entry with a red X in front of it and and with connect grayed out.

How do I fix this? What does the connection manager need?

I am currently running deluge 1.2.0-rc5 on kubuntu karmic koala (x86).

TIA

Joe

It needs a running daemon to connect to.. If you don't want this functionality, turn on Classic Mode and restart deluge.

OK. I think it used to do that by itself. So, how do I start the daemon and configure it?

Thanks.

I turned on classic mode and deluge seems to be working (haven't tried to download anything yet.)

I never used classic mode before and the daemon just worked.

Now, deluged is not installed. When I tried installing it (in deluge-core), apt uninstalled all the rest of deluge (the gui, etc.).

Please explain why it does this now and what the "best" way to run deluge is. Is the daemon only for running the gui on one machine and the actual program (daemon) on another machine?

Thanks.
