i've posted about trouble with deluge on hardy before.

is anybody able to run the launchpad version on his headless ubuntu 8.04?

i've tried everything (except compiling source) to make it work on my installation. yet it doesnt seem to be possible.

so my question: could some developer please let the community know whether hardy is supported at all?

I run deluge trunk on a hardy machine, compiled from source.
The only real difficulty in compiling from source on hardy is that you require boost 1.35 which is newer than the ones in the repo.
You also need a relatively new twisted (the one in the repo is ancient).

What errors do you get when trying to run deluge?

You only need boost 1.34.1 for libtorrent 0.14.x..

a solution would be if someone could re-puplish the complete 1.1.9 package. this was working on my hardy before, but it's not available anymore. if only someone could get the launchpad people to go back to 1.1.9 for hardy. that should work
