daemon running -- directories grayed out?

Here's my problem, this is running on Ubuntu 9.10, daemon is running.. I can't seem to change the directories for where the downloads are saved. They just show up as grayed out (see picture). I can change the .conf file--but the auto downloads don't seem to be working.. any ideas?
