Probably problem with two screens/resolutions

Hello!

I use Deluge on a laptop which beside its own screen (1280x800) is also via DVI cable connected to a LCD tv screen (screen is full hd but laptop is normally set to 1280x720 there). Normally I close my laptop and then use the tv screen to watch 720p movies or tv shows there.
I noticed a few times already that when I use the tv screen that I couldn't use the main windows from Deluge, it did open from the tray but was only totally white or black. That wasn't a big issue as I still could see everything on the normal screen from the laptop and I generally use the tv screen only to watch movies.
However now after trying to check Deluge again on my tv, I couldn't even open the main window on the laptop screen anymore. When I clicked the symbol in the tray it appeared in the task bar but the window seemed to be invisible. Reboots or upgrading to 1.20 rc1 didn't help either. In the end deleting the settings folder in AppData fixed the problem and I added all torrents again.

Maybe a problem that might be worth checking, I use Windows 7 RTM 64 Bit, my graphic card is a ATI Raedon HD 2600.

Thanks and greetings!

I did experiment a little more and the problem seems to occur when I open Deluge first on my normal screen on the laptop (1280x800) and later on the tv in 720p mode. If I open it first when using the tv screen and later view it on the laptop Deluge doesn't show up in full screen (the hight still with 720 pixel instead of 800 I guess) but this is at least better than nothing ;)
If I don't change the size on my laptop screen it still later also shows up fine on the tv but I if I resize it on the laptop to 1280x800 full screen it will break again after changing the screens.
I guess that the Deluge window doesn't automatically resize properly when switching to another screen and Windows has problems showing the 1280x800 window on the 1280x720 screen and somehow it breaks totally when trying.

Not such a big problem for me anymore since I found a workaround but maybe something worth fixing anyway in the future if possible :ugeek:

Hi, i have just had the same problem, an the solution is straight forward.

Open %appdata%\Roaming\deluge\gtkui.conf

make sure deluge is not running, as it will overwrite your changes

search for the following lines :

"window_y_pos" and "window_x_pos"

Set both to 0 save the file and start deluge up again.

Problem solved :)
