I have several gigantic torrent files/directories along with the .torrent files used to download them. They were downloaded from another client, then moved on disk.
Is it possible to easily import these all into Deluge for seeding?
Import previous torrents?
Re: Import previous torrents?
Be sure to have backups available from dead torrents, just in case.
IF they are on the same main folder and you haven't messed with labels, different folders etc etc, you
1. Make sure that the storage folder is set as the default Deluge download folder
2. you just copy all .torrent files to one directory.
3. you go to Options -> Downloads, enable the Automatic add torrents from, specify the directory you copied the .torrent files and you're ready to go. Deluge will import all .torrents using the default values, will find the downloaded data in the default folder, check it and be off.
If you've messed with labels, different folders and stuff, it's much trickier but the way is basically the same, only that you need to change the default download folder each time for the various labels you have used.
e.g. Let's say you have 3 download folder /Music /Games /Etc and you have 20 downloaded torrents in each.
You have to do the above steps 3 times for each of these folders.
e.g. For the /Music torrents.
1. You set Deluge to save data in /Music
2. You copy all your .torrent files related to /Music (NOT the downloaded data, the .torrent files ONLY) to a folder of your choice.
3. You enable Automatically add torrents from, and specify that folder of your choice from the previous step.
The rest happens automatically, as long as you didn't tamper more with /Music.
Then you repeat the process for the other base folders, /Games and /Etc.
That's how I added my 320 torrents back into Deluge from μTorrent. Yeah, it's a bit of a labor sometimes but at least you can take lots of torrents together instead of adding them manually one by one. If you haven't messed with the folders at all and have one default folder and all its subdirectories were created by torrents and no by you or an automatic label/category function, you finish in a flash. Not sure if you understood the post
The main philosophy is you change default dirs for each base folder than you have, copy .torrent files to your automatic folder and wait for it to check the downloaded files.
