Deluge Forum

Hello,

I want to install Deluge on to my eee. I understand that for Xandros i'm supposed to click on Debian. However, I don't know how to install the recommended package manager that is suggested before you download. Nor do I know how to do the source code that is mentioned (either for the package manager or Deluge- can't remember).

I'm looking for some step by step instructions on installing deluge on to my eee properly.

I don't know much about linux. At best I know that you press ctrl alt T to do the source code.

Your help is appreciated.

might not help you much of getting it to run on your specific setup but it does apparently work on similar hardware.

From the console you could type "apt-get install deluge" if there is a package available in the repository it should install the version you need, it may not be the latest version.

For the absolute beginner, I just looked up a package manager for xandros from google, it seems you can install synaptic package manager with very few steps, this is probably the best route... however, it also may not be the latest version. For the latest version it would likely have to be compiled from source. To install synaptic, in the console type "apt-get install synaptic" It should create a shortcut or you can run it by typing "synaptic" in the console.
Keep in mind that apt-get and synaptic do basically the same thing behind the scenes it's just easier for some to use synaptic because they can see a list of packages and use a handy search function.
