I am a Throttle victim
I am a Throttle victim
Hi, Not sure what I'm talking about here and am hoping for a simple solution, but I've switched isp and now found out it throttles Torrents around the clock. I've set my deluge to random ports, but I think i have to make some choices on the Proxies tab to encrypt the downloads or something? Does anyone know my next move?

What ISP is it?
Some like plusnet in the UK throttle based on packet type so changing port doesn't effect the throttling, your only hope may be moving ISP again if possible.

Ok it is plusnet, not all is lost (I use them as well), what package are you on? Value by any chance? If so then you will be limited to 30K max (from memory) as it is sold as "Not suitable for p2p or usenet", I use unlimited and find it fine so far, full speed 12 hrs a day then various limits down to 12K between 12pm & 12am. but the uploads run at full speed all day
Check the front page and look for "traffic shaping" that will tell you what speed to expect, however if you are on value/unlimited than you most likely have signed into an 18 month contract
BTW encryption & changing ports doesn't make any difference as they use packet inspection technology to check the traffic.
